Chris Sutton says there was a ‘massive gulf’ between Celtic and Rangers

Chris Sutton has delivered a scathing assessment of Celtic following their 1-0 defeat to Rangers at Parkhead, describing the Glasgow derby as "men against boys".

Ryan Naderi's first-half goal proved the difference as Martin O'Neill's side suffered a third successive defeat in all competitions.

Celtic struggled to create anything meaningful despite chasing an equaliser, while Rangers enjoyed the better of the contest and secured all three points.

O'Neill suggested afterwards that the game had been relatively close, but former Celtic striker Sutton strongly disagreed with that assessment.

"Celtic have got big problems. They were smashed by Rangers and that's a concern," Sutton said on Sky Sports.

"Knowing Martin, he'll be greatly concerned.

"I don't like to disagree with him but it wasn't a close game. There was a massive gulf between the teams. I can't actually remember a Celtic team getting such a doing at Celtic Park from a Rangers team, which happened today.

"It looked like Celtic were making it up as they went along.

"Rangers were better in every department.

"It was men against boys, it was the exact same as last week."
