Bridgewater-Raynham boys soccer faces off with Dighton-Rehoboth

Another week of the fall high school sports season has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week , Dighton-Rehoboth soccer edged past Bridgewater-Raynham in an all-Greater Taunton showdown to continue its strong run of form while Bristol Aggie cross country's top runner won another dual meet and a Taunton golfer shot under par. On the gridiron , Taunton fell to North Attleboro, but fought until the very end , scoring both touchdowns in the fourth quarter, while Bridgewater-Raynham erased a 15-0 deficit to Marshfield before ultimately falling on a last second field goal . Bristol-Plymouth fell on the road to Greater New Bedford, who were led by a breakout performance from a senior wide receiver , while Dighton-Rehoboth fell to Tyngsborough in a back-and-forth battle on the MA-NH border.

The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Boys Athlete of the Week for Sept. 14-20 is Dighton-Rehoboth football's Jack Lynch, receiving 49.5% of the vote. Bristol-Plymouth football's Wes Palleschi came in second with 43.6% while Bristol Aggie cross country's Brett Gifford received 6.2% to finish third.

Creedon had a goal and an assist against Durfee.

Miller scored the lone goal of the match against Diman.

Moitoso scored the lone goal of the match against Bridgewater-Raynham.

Gifford was the top overall finisher (18:52) against Atlantis Charter.

Boyer shot an even par of 36 against Falmouth.
