Dolphins create roughly $2.5 million in cap space with four moves

The Miami Dolphins , after moving on from Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, Minkah Fitzpatrick and several other veterans this offseason, entered 2026 without much cap space.

However, if the Dolphins want to make it through the season, they'll have to bring in free agents to fill in for injured players at points, so they needed to open up some cap space somehow.

On Wednesday, Spotrac revealed that Miami has made the following four moves to open up roughly $2.5 million in cap space:

Converted $1.51 million of right Austin Jackson's per-game bonus, creating $1.2 million in space.

Converted $341,000 of tight end Greg Dulcich's per-game bonus, creating $272,000 in space.

Converted $792,000 of cornerback JuJu Brents' salary, creating $634,000 in space.

Converted $511,000 of defensive lineman Zach Sieler's per-game bonus, creating $408,000.

These moves will help the Dolphins make it to Week 18, as they try to improve the bottom of the roster and fill in for injured players.
