SEC power rankings have a new No. 1 after Week 2

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns and quarterback Arch Manning earned an impressive comeback win over the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes. Texas dominated in the fourth quarter to overcome a 20-point deficit at home. Texas earned the country's most impressive win of the season and replaces the Georgia Bulldogs , who have not played a Power Four team yet, as the No. 1 team in our SEC power rankings after Week 2.

Across the SEC, Texas A&M, Missouri, Mississippi State and Tennessee all defeated Power Four opponents by over 14 points. Alabama won 45-17 thanks to a dominant second half over the Kentucky Wildcats in Alabama's SEC opener.

The Oklahoma Sooners fell on the road to the Michigan Wolverines in a defensive showdown, which serves as a blow to Oklahoma's playoff hopes. Utah demolished Arkansas, who looks like the worst team in the SEC.

Georgia , South Carolina, LSU, Ole Miss and more all won comfortably over inferior opponents to move to 2-0. Vanderbilt had a slight scare against Delaware in a nine-point game. The SEC has looked strong in nonconference play with just two SEC teams suffering nonconference losses thus far.
