Novak Djokovic has advice to give Iga Swiatek and promises they’ll talk more soon

Novak Djokovic may be 39 years of age with his powers waning, yet he remains one of tennis' most integral and influential figures of all time.

Even today, as results may not be going his way, the Serbian is still a vital port of call for many of the sport's best players, with Iga Swiatek the latest to request his help.

Felix Auger-Aliassime, Joao Fonseca and Iva Jovic are three notable stars to have benefitted from his advice, whilst last year, Darren Cahill even attributed some of Sinner's success to advice Djokovic gave back in 2022.

The impact he has had on tennis goes far beyond the many, many trophies and accolades he has amassed.

Swiatek could be the latest set to enjoy an upturn in form because of his genius.

Djokovic's physio recently stated that he loves helping young players to improve their games, but Swiatek is hardly that.

She is no newcomer seeking a breakthrough moment; this is a six-time Grand Slam champion, who is just one Australian Open title away from completing the Career Grand Slam.

So, it arguably makes her request for his advice even more powerful, with one great champion bowing to another's superior experience and quality.

From the footage that emerged, it appeared that the Polish star was seeking counsel on her return position.

Novak Djokovic was heard noting: "As I said, I have a bit more wide like this, I try to have the feet open a little bit, I try to open a little bit more because… but it has evolved. When I was younger, I was standing a little more like this (bent over forward). Now, and then before, maybe five, six years ago, I was here (leaning back slightly). And now I'm here (middle ground stance). So, it's evolving."

He then added: "We'll talk more. My coach is already, I feel, here (gestures to the back of his neck). A lot of pressure."

Swiatek thanked him, and Djokovic insisted it was 'no problem'.

Djokovic, meanwhile, is set to make his first appearance since losing in the first round of the US Open late last month.
