Chiefs’ Omarr Norman-Lott to begin 2026 season on PUP list

As we await the Kansas City Chiefs ' final 53-man roster for the 2026 season, or even the initial 53-man roster as of the cutdown deadline at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, reports have leaked out about who the front office and coaching staff plan to keep.

ESPN's Nate Taylor reported that second-year defensive tackle Marcus Harris will be one of the players going to bed happy on Sunday evening. He will make the team's initial 53-man roster , but Taylor's report is tagged with confirmation of second-year defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott's (Knee) injury status.

Norman-Lott will begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, meaning he will miss at least the first four games of the season. The second-round pick from last year's draft is still recovering from tearing his ACL during the Week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders last season.

Harris has arguably earned the spot regardless of Norman-Lott's health. He finished the preseason with a standout performance against the Seattle Seahawks , stifling multiple handoffs in the backfield and forcing a lengthy field-goal attempt that was ultimately missed.

Once Norman-Lott is healthy, it will be interesting to see how the rotation adjusts to welcome him back. For now, Harris looks to compete for snaps with rookie Peter Woods behind defensive tackles Chris Jones and Khyiris Tonga.
