Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane missed out on another shooting medal for India after finishing fourth in the 10m air rifle mixed team final at the Asian Games here on Tuesday.The Indian pair, who had entered the medal round after finishing second in qualification, shot 376.3 at Stage 2, series 1 before their elimination from the final.China's Wang Zifei and Sheng Lihao won the gold medal with a world-record score of 507.1. The Republic of Korea's Ban Hyojin and Park Hajun took silver with 502.9, while Japan's Naoki Hanakawa and Misaki Nobata claimed bronze with 439.7.Valarivan and Mane had shot 634.6 in qualification to make the top-four cut. The 27-year-old had already won two silver medals in the women’s 10m air rifle - one in the team event alongside Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod, and another in the individual competition. She became the first Indian woman to win an Asian Games medal in the women's 10m air rifle individual event.Tuesday's mixed-team event gave Valarivan another chance to build on what had already been her most productive Asian Games campaign.For 18-year-old Mane, the mixed-team final followed a breakthrough Asian Games debut.Mane was part of India's men's 10m air rifle team, which won silver on Monday alongside Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon. The trio finished with 1890.1, behind China's world-record 1899.0. Mane shot 628.3 in qualification and finished 10th individually, missing the individual final.The mixed-team qualification also offered a measure of progress for the Indian pair. Valarivan and Mane had finished fourth at the ISSF World Cup in Hangzhou earlier this year, after qualifying for that final with 634.2.India's shooting contingent had been responsible for the bulk of the country's medals through the opening days of the Games.
