Vote for the Journal Sentinel's play of the week for the week of Sept. 14

What was the best play in the Milwaukee area this past week? You tell us.

This past week featured four excellent plays from Week 5 action of high school football around the area and you can decide by voting for the best one from now until noon on Saturday, Sept. 26, as many times as you'd like.

We now have a submission tool on our Preps Plus portion of the Journal Sentinel website. The location to upload your clips is under the top banner that's labeled " Upload Your Video ". It's a four-step process that will allow you to upload clips from the week across all fall sports. The clips must be trimmed and uploaded to be 30 seconds or shorter in the proper formatting to be eligible for selection. Please submit your clips by the end of the day on Mondays to make sure your clip is potentially included to be a nominee.

Port Washington football vs. West Bend West on Sept. 18

Mason Schwanz, sr., Port Washington: Schwanz ran 15 times for 65 yards with two crucial touchdowns in the fourth quarter of Port Washington's 20-12 win over West Bend West in the rain on Friday, Sept. 18. On the first of his two short-yardage scores, he and quarterback Jack Bunyan worked together to save the play with Schwanz falling into the end zone to give the Pirates a 13-12 advantage they wouldn't relinquish.

Larry McCain, sr., Milwaukee Bay View: On top of his duties as a linebacker for the Bay View defense, Redcats quarterback Larry McCain does it all for the offense, too. In Bay View's first victory over Pulaski in nine seasons to capture the Wooden Football on Thursday, Sept. 17, McCain scored on the ground three times, including this 36-yarder to give the Redcats a 12-0 lead in a 20-12 win for Bay View.

Elex Mentch, jr., West Bend West: Mentch touched the ball three times in West Bend West's 20-12 loss to Port Washington and this one was his most important carry. On fourth-and-5 in the early moments of the fourth quarter with Port leading 7-6, Mentch took the reverse, shook off a few Port defenders and found himself in the end zone with a 25-yard score to give the Spartans a 12-7 lead.

Mace Miskel, jr., Whitefish Bay: Week 5 was seemingly the Mace Miskel game for the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes in their 35-14 win over Slinger on Friday, Sept. 18. Miskel scored three times (49, 69, 78 yards) on three offensive touches and intercepted a pass on defense for the Blue Dukes in the victory, including the 78-yard catch-and-run in the video above.
