Celtics predicted to trade Paul George for $240M high-scoring duo to pair with Jayson Tatum

The Boston Celtics have had quite the offseason in terms of moves made, which is weird considering it involved getting rid of their Finals MVP. It was an interesting move, but one that was somewhat warranted, as Jaylen Brown has been involved in trade talks for years.

There was plenty of reasoning for why things went down the way they did. However, Jayson Tatum's camp was not real happy with Brown.

"Members of Tatum's camp had expressed externally to others in league circles that they were not happy with Brown's demeanor and his angle of claiming that this was the season he enjoyed the most with the Celtics," NBA insider Brett Siegel said.

For this reason, Boston decided to find a trade suitor for Brown. The Celtics sent their Finals MVP to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George .

"Jaylen Brown has a new home, as the Boston Celtics agreed to send the former NBA Finals MVP to the Philadelphia 76ers in a blockbuster trade Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. The 76ers are sending Paul George, two first-round picks (2028, 2031) and two second-round selections (2028, 2030) to Boston to complete the deal, sources said," ESPN wrote.

It was kind of a strange deal. Heavy.com's Adam Taylor has created a trade package that sends George to the New Orleans Pelicans for Trey Murphy III and Jordan Poole .

"Celtics Get: Jordan Poole, Trey Murphy. Pelicans Get: Paul George, a 2032 first-round draft pick, a 2030 first-round pick swap, a 2031 first-round pick swap, a 2030 second-round pick and a 2032 second-round pick," Taylor wrote.

Boston would be getting significantly better, and their bench would be great. Derrick White and Payton Pritchard would start, then be followed by Murphy and Poole.

Poole and Murphy's contracts combine for $240 million. Both players can score at any time, and Murphy is great on the defensive end. If this trade went down, the Celtics will have turned Brown into Poole and Murphy.
