PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) - We wrap up our coverage of Week 2 of the high school football season by announcing our Rainelle Medical Center Player of the Week!
This week's winner is Princeton Tiger Quarterback Jake Belcher!
Belcher was absolutely surgical, carving up the Bluefield defense as the Tigers won their sixth game in a row against their cross-county rivals, 32-30.
Belcher completed a staggering 92% of his passes against a talented Beavers defense, going 24/26 passing for 227 yards and three touchdowns.
Belcher also added 38 yards on the ground, helping the Tiger offense keep the chains moving in critical situations.
Through two games, Belcher has exceeded all expectations for the defending AAA state champions, picking up right where quarterback Chance Barker left off last season in Princeton.
Congratulations to Jake Belcher, our Week 2 Player of the Week!
