Carolina Panthers vs Atlanta Falcons opening odds

· 199 words

The Carolina Panthers made history today by playing stunningly poor defense against an excellent quarterback. Part of that equation seems destined to change next week, regardless of what the Atlanta Falcons manage to trot out as a "signal caller." We will once again have the privilege of witnessing a stoppable force meeting a moveable object.

As for the Panthers offense against the Falcons defense, we have a bit of the opposite story. Both units looked better than their counterparts in Week 1. Oddsmakers, predictably, have no idea what to actually make of either team at this point and so have set the lines quite close.

Remember that home-field advantage is traditionally accounted for by spotting the home team—the Falcons, in this case—three points on the spread. That would actually see the Panthers favored on a neutral field. Of course, FanDuel has forgotten entirely about Atlanta Bryce and so have not accounted appropriately for the career high performance that we are all expecting from Bryce Young on Sunday.

The above odds were current as of the writing of this post. You can take a look at—and place a bet on—live odds for this game and more here at FanDuel Sportsbook.
