Conemaugh Township forced to move football game back a day

Conemaugh Township was forced to make a late decision to move its Week 2 football game back.

Conemaugh Township announced its Week 2 varsity football matchup against West Shamokin, originally slated for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, has been pushed back to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5.

The Conemaugh Township school district still does not have power as of 4:30 p.m. after Thursday's storm wreaked havoc on the area. Conemaugh Township did not have school on Friday, a planned day off on the district calendar.

Conemaugh Township is 1-0 on the season, while West Shamokin is 0-1.

In other area action, Westmont Hilltop was forced to move its LHAC contest against Tyrone to Windber Stadium Friday because of the storm.
