Beau Greaves first woman to win match on PDC European Tour, plays Luke Humphries next at Czech Darts Open
Beau Greaves rallies from 3-1 down to beat Daryl Gurney 6-4 in first round of Czech Darts Open as she gets revenge from first-round defeat to 'Superchin' in round one of World Championship; European Tour win another first for Greaves this year; Niko Springer to face Luke Littler in Prague
The 22-year-old rallied from 3-1 down to beat Daryl Gurney 6-4 in Prague on Friday night and will now play world No 2 Humphries in the last-32 on Saturday evening, with the winner meeting Nathan Aspinall or Andrew Gilding in round three on Sunday.
Greaves' latest landmark moment follows becoming the first woman to hit a nine-darter on the PDC Pro Tour, against Mensur Suljovic back in February, and the first to win a PDC ranking title, doing so when she edged Michael Smith 8-7 at Players Championship 11.
She was also the first woman to qualify for a European Tour event when she reached last month's Hungarian Darts Trophy.
Greaves lost to Rob Cross in the first round in Budapest but her run in Prague will now last at least one more match after defeating Gurney, a player she had suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to in round one of the 2026 World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.
The Yorkshirewoman pinned double one to clinch victory over 'Superchin' in the Czech Republic.
Elsewhere on Friday, Niko Springer routed Martin Homola 6-0 to book a second-round meeting with world No 1 Luke Littler, while Joe Cullen, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Cross were big-name casualties, dumped out by Stephen Burton, Mario Vandenbogaerde and Keane Barry respectively.
Humphries, who, like Littler, received a bye to round two as one of the 16 seeded players, has won the last two Czech Darts Open titles, thrashing Kim Huybrechets 8-1 in the 2024 final and then seeing off Josh Rock 8-5 last year.
'Cool Hand' is targeting a fourth victory in five years at this event having knocked off Rob Cross 8-5 in the 2022 final.
Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price are also in Prague and will take on Mario Vandenbogaerde and Callan Rydz respectively on Saturday night.
Mario Vandenbogaerde 6-2 Dirk van Duijvenbode
Jermaine Wattimena vs Krzysztof Ratajski
Gian van Veen v Niels Zonneveld or Jeffrey de Graaf
