Noah Lyles revealed that he won't be able to compete in the World Athletics Ultimate Championship and will end his 2026 season following an injury that occurred during the U.S. outdoor championships.

"After running at USAs, we found out that I had a small strain, not very serious, and the rehab that we were putting together was going extremely well," Lyles said in a video posted on X (h/t Zack Pierce of The Athletic). "Unfortunately, because of the strain, it caused some other things to flare up, and it's made it hard for me to continue practicing. We decided that we'll just end the season here, get ready for 2027, 2028, which are going to be humongous years."

Lyles confirmed that he'll still travel to Budapest for the World Athletics Ultimate Championship to support his fellow track and field athletes, though.
