Class of 2027 star center Cherif Millogo will be taking his talents down South to start his college career.
Class of 2027 star center Cherif Millogo will be taking his talents down South to start his college career.
On Wednesday, Millogo announced that he is committing to Kentucky over offers from UNC, Texas and others. The 7'5" big man, who is rated as a 5-star prospect and the No. 6 center in 247Sports' composite , is head coach Mark Pope's highest-ranked recruit with the Wildcats.
In his evaluation of Millogo, Jack Pilgrim of On3.com described him as "the most physically imposing big man in the country, agile for his size and capable of knocking down jump shots, but also an impossible load to handle in the frontcourt. Boasting a 7-foot-9 wingspan, Millogo is a vicious rim protector with tremendous upside as he improves his strength and conditioning and continues stacking game reps."
Millogo is now one of the headliners of a 2027 Kentucky recruiting class that also includes small forward Ryan Hampton, who is rated as a 5-star prospect and the No. 7 player at his position in 247Sports' composite . The young duo should fuel optimism for a bright future under Pope, who has led the Wildcats to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in his first two years at the helm.
Landing Millogo continues the good vibes in Kentucky after the team opened the 2026-27 season with an 85-57 win over Manhattan on Tuesday night. Senior forward Milan Momcilovic dropped 24 points to lead the Wildcats, who are starting the year ranked No. 23 in the AP Top 25.
Kentucky will be back in action on Friday in another home matchup against James Madison.
