KSE confirms plans to rejoin BJP, eyes 2028 assembly polls
Karnataka’s KS Eshwarappa says talks are underway to rejoin BJP and confirms plans to contest the 2028 assembly polls, with son Kantesh also considered.
Shivamogga: Former deputy chief minister and Rashtrabhaktara Balaga convener KS Eshwarappa on Wednesday said that consultations regarding his formal re-entry into BJP remain ongoing, while affirming his plan to contest the assembly elections in 2028.Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the politician said discussions are on with organisational leaders from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, community heads and political supporters. He noted that well-wishers have urged him to secure clear assurances prior to rejoining the saffron party to avoid a repeat of past ticket denials. Eshwarappa was denied a ticket in the 2023 assembly polls, which led to his expulsion from the party as he rebelled against the party in the Lok Sabha polls. Eshwarappa also revealed that Karnataka BJP state president BY Vijayendra recently held discussions with his son, KE Kantesh, regarding the re-entry process.Stating that he will contest the upcoming assembly elections, Eshwarappa said a final decision on whether he himself or his son Kantesh will enter the race will be taken after further local consultations. Reaffirming his lifelong commitment to RSS ideology and the BJP, he ruled out joining any alternative political party, confirming he has turned down past proposals from Congress, Socialist Party, and Jana Sena Party. “My political journey began with the BJP, and I will remain committed to it until my last breath. While discussions regarding re-induction are progressing with senior leaders and well-wishers, my participation in the upcoming assembly elections is entirely certain,” Eshwarappa stated. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Mysuru | Silver Rate in Mysuru | Bank Holidays in Mysuru | Public Holidays in MysuruStay updated with the latest Mysuru news.
