Dolly Parton’s classic ‘9 to 5’ returning to theaters for limited run

( NewsNation ) — The classic 1980 workplace comedy “ 9 to 5 ” is returning to theaters next month for a special weeklong run.

The newly restored version of the film, starring the late Dolly Patrton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, will be shown in theaters nationwide from Oct. 9-15.

Directed by Colin Higgins, “9 to 5” follows three women office workers who join forces to get revenge on their sexist and demanding boss.

The film became a hit following its release and is remembered for its comedic take on workplace sexism, as well as Parton’s iconic title song , “9 to 5,” according to the Hollywood Reporter .

The theatrical re-release gives audiences a chance to see the beloved comedy on the big screen more than four decades after its original release.

Disney will donate net proceeds from each U.S. ticket purchase to The Dollywood Foundation,” Deadline reported . Proceeds will be used to support the country icon’s Imagination Library .

Parton died of cancer last month at age 80. She built an impressive legacy over the decades as a singer-songwriter, actor, philanthropist and entrepreneur — leaving big and small ways to honor the musician.
