Trump launches America.gov, AI-powered government services hub

President Trump launched a website Tuesday that uses artificial intelligence to help Americans navigate the federal government and find information and services.

Trump touted the website, America.gov, during an event at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington. He thanked Joe Gebbia, the Airbnb co-founder who now leads the National Design Studio (NDS) and services as the first-ever U.S. chief design officer, for being the “mastermind behind many of the incredible breakthroughs.”

“It’s the ultimate product. It’s called America when you think about it,” Trump said. “With America.gov, the federal government no longer stands in your way, and it stands only at your service. And that’s what we’re doing. We’re simplifying it. We’re glamorizing it. We’re making it what it should be.”

The website features a search bar that lets users ask questions about how to navigate certain services. It tells users that all answers provided come from official government websites and includes links to the original sources.

The president said this project has been in the works since the early days of his second administration.

“Instead of forcing citizens to search through the endless maze of tens of thousands of terrible government websites and rules, and more than 10,000 forms … you’ll now have one front door for every single question,” he said.

He said “in theory” the website cannot be hacked into.

“It’s built from the ground up with your privacy and security totally in mind,” Trump said. “To ensure that your personal information is not collected or stored, and your conversation disappears when you leave, and everything stays totally private.”

The website says that in early 2027, users will be able to complete forms, applications and renewals, like enrolling in Medicare and applying for a passport.

Trump also signed an executive order at the event directing federal government agencies to make their services integrate with the website.

The event included different people showing what can be done on the website. Several Cabinet and administration officials and tech leaders were also in attendance.
