House Republican leaders will speak with reporters Tuesday morning as calls mount for more transparency around artificial intelligence and implementing guardrails around the rapidly developing technology.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) dismissed the idea of swiftly adding regulations on the AI industry, despite tech leaders’ warnings of the dangers of the technology if development is not slowed down. President Trump has also called the alarm a “hoax.”

The post-meeting press conference also comes as the GOP fights to maintain control of Congress and a day after the House Rules Committee advanced the Senate-led Russia sanctions bill.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
