Watch: Trump to sign beef-related executive order after easing tariffs

President Trump signed an executive order Friday afternoon related to the beef industry , according to the White House.

Trump announced last month that the U.S. would pause higher tariffs on ground beef imports for 90 days, allowing up to 300,000 metric tons to enter the country without the higher “out-of-quota” tariff rate.

Trump said the move would help lower costs for consumers while giving the administration time to rebuild the U.S. cattle herd and support ranchers.

The plan has come under heavy criticism from Republicans and ranchers alike .
