( NewsNation ) – Investigators in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie , the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, say they are reviewing a new possible ransom note.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department released a statement late on Tuesday announcing that the joint police and FBI task force was “recently made aware of a new possible ransom note related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.”

“Investigators are also aware of social media comments regarding the note and are looking further into the information to determine its credibility,” the statement said.

The department did not say who received the note, what is says or when it was sent.

The sheriff’s department previously released the full text of two ransom notes sent to Tucson television station KOLD in hopes that someone would recognize the writer’s distinctive word choice and phrasing.

The first of those notes demanded bitcoin and included details about a white smartwatch and a destroyed floodlight that had not been made public.

The second claimed Guthrie died shortly after she was taken, according to the release.

No arrests made, months after disappearance

Nancy Guthrie was first reported missing on Feb. 1, and authorities believe she was taken from her home in the early hours of the morning.

Photos of an armed, masked suspect were recovered from a camera at the home, but no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made.
