Dana White, president and CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), on Saturday said he will meet with President Trump on Monday to discuss the president’s offer to take the role of White House press secretary.

White told reporters in London that he was flying to Washington and, when asked how he could balance multiple jobs at once, said he has “a lot of jobs already.”

“We have a meeting on Monday, so I’m sure I’ll have more to talk about after that,” he said, not going into detail about his conversations with the president.

Earlier in the day, White shared what appeared to be an AI-generated image of himself standing behind the podium in the White House briefing room on his Instagram story. A caption read, “On to the next chapter.” He followed this with a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post saying he spoke with White about the role.

Trump on Saturday said that White was offered “the job of Press Secretary of the United States.”

“I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris,” Trump wrote. “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”

Trump and White have had a close friendship in recent years. White’s UFC hosted a fight on the White House South Lawn over the summer as part of ongoing celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary and Trump’s 80th birthday. The CEO of UFC’s parent company, Andrew Schleimer, said it lost $30 million on the White House fight.

The White House has been searching for a permanent press secretary after Karoline Leavitt left in August.

Political commentator Katie Zacharia briefly held the role before she was dismissed after less than a week and only one short press briefing. Zacharia left the post after reports emerged that she had marketed herself as an attorney without passing the bar exam.

The search for a new press secretary also comes amid other shake-ups since Democrats made massive gains following the 2026 midterm elections. Former White House chief of staff Susie Wiles departed weeks after Trump wrote online that she was “my trusted advisor, and has my COMPLETE confidence.”

Stephen Miller, a long-time Trump adviser and formerly deputy chief of staff, replaced Wiles on Friday.
