Trump: Fans ‘will not be happy’ Bartiromo out at Fox News

President Trump said late Thursday that Maria Bartiromo’s fans will not be happy that the host is out at Fox News.

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” the president wrote on Truth Social . “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior.”

“Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria,” he added.

Bartiromo worked at Fox Business for just more than 12 years and grew to be one of Trump’s most vocal supporters on the network. Before that, she worked as a financial journalist for 20 years at CNBC, where she won an Emmy Award for a documentary about Google.

Fox abruptly announced that the final episode of “Mornings with Maria” aired Thursday morning and that the show would be called “Mornings with Fox Business” beginning Friday and feature rotating hosts.

The network will also rename “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” to “FBN’s Wall Street,” with a new host.

Fox News gave few details on what led to Bartiromo’s departure.

“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 1/2 years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” it said in a short statement .

While at Fox News, Bartiromo was sued by voting machine company Smartmatic in 2021, alongside former host Jeanine Pirro, who is now U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.

Smartmatic argued that Fox and its hosts caused financial harm to the company by promoting election fraud claims during the 2020 election — though Bartiromo vehemently denied the allegation.

Bartiromo and Fox News tried to dismiss the lawsuit, saying the “headline-seeking, multi-billion-dollar lawsuit thus should be seen—and rejected—for what it is: an unconstitutional attempt by a money-losing company … to try to refill its coffers at the expense of our constitutional traditions.”

She was also deposed in another case against Fox involving Dominion Voting Systems — another election voting machine company — after hosting guests who argued similar election fraud claims.

Bartiromo notably booked Trump and his allies at the time on her “Sunday Morning Futures” show on several occasions after the 2020 election while they contested former President Biden’s win in court and in the media.
