There will be more than pumpkins and candy at the White House’s Halloween celebration — this year’s fright-filled festivities are also poised to scare up some support for Trump Accounts.

The first lady’s press office on Monday announced plans for the annual spooky tradition at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

President Trump and Melania Trump will hand out commemorative candies as they welcome “trick or treaters of all ages” to the South Lawn on Thursday afternoon for the pre-Halloween shindig. The event, which typically draws thousands of costumed visitors, is open to ticketholders, which include military and law enforcement families, the children of administration officials and foster and adoptive families, according to the White House.

The South Portico of the White House will feature trick-or-treat booths and spooky decorations, along with Halloween tunes performed by the U.S. Air Force Strolling Strings.

In addition to sweet treats, children will also be receiving coloring books from the Treasury Department “as part of its promotion of Trump Accounts for young trick or treaters.”

The Trump administration launched the president’s eponymous newborn investment program, which open federal savings accounts for qualifying children born between 2025 and 2028, earlier this year.

Melania Trump’s Be Best initiative — which the first lady kicked off in 2018 — will also be represented. The U.S. Postal Service “will provide toy mail trucks and facilitate a Be Best post card station for children.”

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is also expected to go big with gourds at the jack-o-lantern-friendly fête. The USDA “will have a giant pumpkin photo opportunity and hand out mini pumpkins from American farmers.”
