Watch live: Vance, Oz to announce crackdown on alleged Obamacare fraud

Vice President Vance and Dr. Mehmet Oz, who leads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), are expected to announce a new crackdown Tuesday on alleged fraud in Affordable Care Act insurance exchanges.

The administration plans to cancel subsidy payments tied to 760,000 accounts it says are fraudulent, unauthorized or otherwise ineligible, according to The Wall Street Journal . Officials estimate the move will save taxpayers roughly $2.2 billion.

CMS is also expected to cut off hundreds of insurance agents and brokers accused of improperly enrolling people in coverage. The move is the latest action from the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud , which Vance leads as President Trump’s “ fraud czar .”
