Traitors' Celia Imrie and Wiltshire's Fidelis Morgan travel world

A Wiltshire writer and actress has said travelling the world with Celebrity Traitors star Celia Imrie is "easy" because they are very well-matched companions.

Fidelis Morgan is not only friends with Imrie but is also collaborating with her on a book called "The Elegant Hustler: Adventures From a Life on the Move". The pair will be discussing it at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

Imrie, 74 - who has starred in shows from Dinnerladies to the Bridget Jones films and more recently the Celebrity Traitors - said she was "so happy" the "extraordinary" BBC hit series had given her new generations of young fans.

Morgan said Traitors was a "very early lesson in psychology" for young people.

The pair, who met in 1975 while working for The Royal Shakespeare Company, said it was there they realised they both "adored travelling" and could have fun together on the way

Imrie said: "The best thing about Fidelis is when things go wrong, she laughs and makes me laugh, and it's heaven."

The pair have been travelling the world by train, ship and plane and documenting their adventures along the way

The duo said it was their preference to travel by sea and rail and avoid flying if possible.

"I had two pulmonary embolisms and the doctor said best not [fly] if you can avoid it and I'm very happy to avoid airports," Imrie said.

Morgan added: "You see things in American trains that you would never see if you drove or if you flew.

"We've seen the wildest of animals - alligators and roadrunners, bears, orange pigs - and eagles."

The pair will make their appearance at the Cheltenham Literature Festival on Friday 16 October.
