‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ star says show to feature her Capitol Hill advocacy work

Capitol Hill could soon be playing a supporting role on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” after one of its stars, Angie Katsanevas, says she filmed some of her advocacy work in the nation’s capital for the show.

“We did film some [of the time] that I spent here in D.C. working with the International Franchise Association (IFA),” Katsanevas, known to viewers as Angie K., told ITK this week.

“So yes, we’ll definitely see some of that” on the series’ seventh season, premiering this week on Bravo, she added.

ITK caught up with Katsanevas on Tuesday as she spoke at the IFA’s advocacy summit in Washington to honor its franchisees of the year award recipients.

The visit marked Katsanevas’s second trip from the Beehive State to the Capitol this year. She advocated for the American Franchise Act — which proponents say would “strengthen the franchise model by providing clear, consistent standards for franchisors under federal labor law” — and testified at a House Small Business Committee hearing focused on franchising in January.

She said that she planned on making a return visit to the Capitol on Tuesday to meet with lawmakers. The conversations might also include “some hair tips and a few spoilers” from this “Real Housewives” season, she quipped.

Katsanevas, who hosts the “GoDaddy School of Hustle” podcast, said grit is the name of the game in D.C.

“Everyone’s hustling here. They’re hustling to make a difference. They’re hustling to work towards putting this spotlight on the American Franchise Act. They’re hustling to push this bill to the finish line,” Katsanevas said.

When asked her expert assessment of the hair situation among lawmakers at the Capitol, the salon pro suggested that Congress has got their locks on lock.

“Looking fabulous,” Katsanevas, 52, exclaimed.

“Actually, I’m pretty surprised,” she added.

“Growing up, I would have not pictured that there were so many stylish women up here looking fabulous in their dresses and suits with great hair. So, I’m impressed,” Katsanevas said.
