Illusion of Inanis - Phantom Blade Zero Guide - IGN

Illusion of Inanis is a Purple Story quest. These are optional but often woven into the main story. In fact Illusion of Inanis is one of the Purple Story quests you cannot miss, as it is a part of the main story.

This quest is automatically started when you reach the first Bell in the Crimson Forest within Phantom Blade Zero . Inanis and Soul speak about a puppet girl named the Chord and how this area is the source of the crying Soul heard earlier. Interacting with the bell allows you to see pieces of the very events Inanis and Soul were talking about. We see Soul, Zuo Shang, and the Chord represent the Order, and Yuyin, Huangxing, and Moji represent the Mandate. Both sides work together to fight Maskwalkers named Hua Qianxiao, Jing Ye, Iron Fever, and Bai Chilian.

Progress all the way through the Crimson Forest until you reach the final section on the eastern side. Eventually you will hunt down Memory Flowers for Inanis and reach the Burial Grounds bell.

Progress forwards past the fog until you meet Inanis once again. Here you will get another cutscene, offering more backstory into her.

After that finishes choose to "Ask about the road". This will trigger another conversation and she will dispel the fog ahead. Upon finishing the conversation, the quest will complete.
