Everything Coming to HBO Max in November

· 1,236 words· updated October 30, 2026 at 02:28 PM

Warner Bros. has revealed a hefty lineup of new additions coming to HBO Max in November. The streaming service is diving right into the holiday vibes on November 1, rolling out a spread of classic Christmas movies in addition to its annual "Yule Log" ambient videos. In the thick of the festivities, HBO Max will also be picking up solid non-festive movie marathons and recent A24 releases.

While there’s no big DC premieres this month (unless you count Clayface in theaters, which will eventually come to HBO Max), there are still some treats for the superhero-inclined. And, as always, subscribers will get access to a complicated splattering of live sports.

Highlights Coming to HBO Max in November

Check out our top picks coming to HBO Max in November or jump ahead to the full release schedule by day .

Next Big HBO Original: The Gilded Age Season 4

First up, what’s filling the classic HBO Sunday slot? The Pet Cemetery Murders: A Ghost Story miniseries wrapped up over the course of October, and Season 4 of The Gilded Age will take its place starting November 1.

From the creator of Downtown Abbey, The Gilded Age is a similar period-accurate drama that, as the title suggests, takes place in late-19th century New York. The new season will release one episode every Sunday through mid-December, leading up to the premiere of HBO’s new Harry Potter series .

HBO Max continues to be the streaming home for A24 releases, and the big one coming to the service in November is Tony. Matthew Johnson’s Anthony Bourdain biopic loosely adapts the first couple of chapters of Kitchen Confidential, painting a very New England picture of how the writer-chef-TV personality first fell in love with the food industry.

Tony is one of IGN’s best-reviewed movies of 2026 so far, with critic Siddhant Adhlaka deeming it “one of the finest and thorniest coming-of-age films in recent years” in his full review .

For Your Next Movie Marathon: Planet of the Apes

While the original 1968 Planet of the Apes movie continues to be near-impossible to find on streaming, HBO Max will be picking up four of the newer Apes movies on November 2. The new quartet, which kicked off with Rise of the Apes in 2011, forms its own timeline which trades the original movie’s nuclear apocalypse for a human-made virus.

We were particularly big fans of the most recent release, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, with critic Eric Goldman arguing it “proves there's still a lot of life in these primates.” Disney seems to feel the same way, given they’ve greenlit yet another reboot of the franchise.

While there aren't any new DC Studios releases coming to streaming next month, a few older superhero movies will be available to HBO Max subscribers for the first time. If you haven’t witnessed the infamous Madame Web , that’s one option. But if you’re looking for a movie with some actual action (sorry, Madame Web fans), HBO Max will also be picking up the first Wolverine movie.

Whether you enjoyed or felt let down by Insomniac’s recent take on the clawed hero, the HBO Max addition is a solid opportunity to revisit what we considered “the Wolverine movie we've always wanted” in our 9/10 review .

It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, but HBO Max subscribers should keep an eye out for a massive influx of classic Christmas and holiday movies. Elf, A Christmas Carol, Christmas With the Kranks, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation are just a few of the many classics that are making their way to HBO Max this year. Expect to see holiday-themed sections throughout the streaming service’s app, roping together existing shows and movies with November’s new additions.

While the bulk of new streaming additions this month are all about the holidays, November is also the season of deals. HBO Max has consistently offered some kind of discount for Black Friday, which is slated for November 26 this year. Last year , the service dropped the monthly Basic with Ads plan to $2.99 (down from $10.99, at the time) for a 12-month subscription period.

However, this year is slightly more complicated. Aside from a generally lower frequency of streaming deals, HBO Max is also a subject of discussion in Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros, now under the Skydance banner . It remains to be seen how exactly the streaming service’s new ownership will affect its library and pricing.
