For Mridula Oberoi, Diwali is as much about finding inner peace as it is about celebrating with loved ones. The actress, currently seen in Apsara, says she is opting for an intimate celebration this year, making time for herself while balancing work and festive rituals.“For me, every day is a new beginning, and every day brings with it a reason to celebrate life. So, Diwali is no different. I believe the festival of lights is not just about celebrations, gatherings and festivities; it is also about finding light within ourselves,” she says.“This year, my Diwali is going to be intimate. I will certainly step out, meet a few close friends and spend some beautiful moments with them, but more than anything, I have consciously chosen to spend time with myself, in my own energy, embracing the peace and happiness that come from within,” she adds. Her Diwali puja, however, remains non-negotiable. “It is a ritual that keeps me grounded, connected and grateful. I am also happy that I will be working on a show this Diwali. For someone who loves her work and finds so much purpose in being on set, that itself is a blessing,” she says. The actress admits she will miss her son, who is in New Zealand, and her mother this festive season. “Festivals have a different warmth when your loved ones are around. My son being away in New Zealand and my mother not being with me will certainly leave a little emptiness, but that's also life. We grow, we move forward, embrace our journeys and learn to celebrate even when everyone we love cannot be physically present,” she shares. Her prayers this year are for meaningful work, prosperity, good health and happiness. She also has one special wish: “That next Diwali, I get to celebrate with my son in New Zealand. Some wishes are not just dreams; they are prayers we carry with us.”Known for shows such as Jhanak, Kumkum Bhagya, Bhagya Lakshmi, Yeh Hai Chahatein and Naagin 6, Mridula has also appeared in films including JugJugg Jeeyo and Sukhee.Get the latest TV News, TV Shows and more.
