With so many options, Jessica Pegula will thrive when her playing days are over

Though tennis fans do not want to see her retire anytime soon, Jessica Pegula will juggle plenty of career options when she stops playing

· 338 words

Don't worry, we do not believe Jessica Pegula is hanging up her tennis racket anytime soon. The 32-year-old WTA World No. 3 has plenty of game that should keep her around for the foreseeable future especially with the 2028 LA Olympics in sight.

However, it is obvious to many that she has plenty of career options when she chooses to retire. All of them are appealing and suit her skills as a good communicator and natural leader.

Pegula recently answered the question of whether she will someday run the Buffalo Bills and/or Buffalo Sabres, following in the footsteps of her father, Terry Pegula.

She diplomatically answered, not divulging anything, while saying that no one knows what the future holds.

Pegula seemed enthusiastic about the idea. As a professional athlete, she seems perfectly suited to take the reins from her dad someday.

Pegula hosts The Player's Box podcast , along with Madison Keys, Jennifer Brady, and Desirae Krawczyk.

She is a natural in front of the camera and a good conversationalist.

That translates to commentating as recent retirees Shelby Rogers, Allison Riske-Amritraj, and Genie Bouchard have successfully done.

Coaching is less likely if Pegula wants to start a family or limit her worldwide travel, but she would be good at that also. She has a great tennis mind, and is an excellent advocate for the WTA and female athletes.

Whatever Pegula does, we know she will be great at it. In the meantime, we are eager to see her back on the court soon. She has been out of action during the fall Asian swing due to fatigue. She has a lot yet to play for as she vies for a spot at the year-end WTA Finals to be held for the first time ever in Indian Wells next month.
