Briton Harriet Dart said reaching her first WTA final "means the world" after she faced three match points on her way to beating 16-year-old Chinese wild card Sun Xinran at the Guangzhou Open.
After losing the opener 7-5 to the world number 405 on Saturday, the 30-year-old had to save three match points on her serve at 5-4 down in the second set before winning a tie-break.
The British number five then cruised through the decider to win 5-7, 7-6 (7-1), 6-0.
"It's been a really long journey, it's been really hard, and I've wanted it so much, so badly - sometimes too much - but to finally be here and be in the final means the world," she said in her on-court interview.
"Thank you to my team for sticking with me. I really appreciate you guys".
