2026 IHSAA boys tennis sectional pairings for Southwestern Indiana

The IHSAA boys sectional pairings were revealed Sunday, Sept. 27.

The Southwestern Indiana area will compete in sectionals 5 through 12. The latest Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association rankings feature three of those teams: Jasper at 9, Barr-Reeve at 14 and Gibson Southern at 28.

All eight sectional brackets are provided below with analysis.

Match 3 : Match 1 winner vs Match 2 winner

No. 9 Jasper is the resounding favorite in Sectional 5. The Wildcats navigated this sectional with ease last season, winning 5-0 in the semifinal and championship rounds. Forest Park defeated Southridge (4-1) and Northeast Dubois (3-2) this season.

Match 3: Match 1 winner vs Match 2 winner

Sullivan (12-4) can be seen as the favorites in this sectional. At 13-6, North Daviess has enough talent too, but the Cougars lost to Sullivan 1-4 on September 15. The winner of the Match 2 seems likely to end up at regionals.

Match 1: Vincennes Rivet vs Vincennes Lincoln

South Knox earned a 3-2 win over Vincennes Lincoln on September 10 that finished close in No.1 singles and in both doubles matches. The two programs should find their way to the championship match.

No. 14 Barr-Reeve has lost just two matches to this point — No. 7 Bloomington South (2-3) and No. 9 Jasper (0-5). Loogootee, the only other team with a winning record in this sectional, lost 0-5 to the Vikings on September 2.

Match 2: Gibson Southern vs Wood Memorial

No. 28 Gibson Southern and Tecumseh have both won 18 matches this season. The Titans defeated the Braves 3-2 on September 17 in a match that came down to No. 2 singles. The two programs are certainly the favorites in this sectional, which should lead to a competitive championship match in Sectional 9.

Match 4: Match 2 winner vs Match 3 winner

Match 5: Match 3 winner vs. Match 4 winner

Central appears to be the favorite in this sectional. While the Bears lost 5-0 in the championship round to North Posey last season, they began this season winning 5-0 themselves against the Vikings.

Match 3: Evansville Christian vs Match 1 winner

Memorial looks to be the most likely winner of this sectional. The Tigers won two matches 3-2 against North this season. The Huskies should be their main competitor and won this sectional a year ago. Evansville Christian (11-4) is another team to watch for.

Castle looks to be the favorite in this sectional. The Knights have been ranked for a large part of this season. If there is a team to contend with them, it is Heritage Hills. The two programs met early in the season on August 18, a 5-0 win for Castle.
