Ronaldinho, Fernandinho steal the show as Brazil Legends beat Indian All Stars

Kochi: The refurbished Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium welcomed a group of Brazilian greats, with Ronaldinho leading Brazil Legends against an Indian All Stars team.The Indian team featured IM Vijayan, Bhaichung Bhutia and Jo Paul Ancheri. The exhibition match ended 4-3 in favour of Brazil Legends. Fernandinho scored a hat-trick, while Ronaldinho converted a penalty. For the Indian All Stars, CK Vineeth struck twice and Ashim Biswas added another goal.Yet, the final score was hardly the focus for most of the spectators. For them, the evening was about watching legends up close, taking selfies and collecting autographs.This was not the typical Kochi football crowd seen during competitive fixtures. The stands were not dominated by Brazil’s yellow or India’s blue, but the atmosphere was alive with drums, chants and slogans, most of them dedicated to Ronaldinho.The fans, however, had not forgotten another Brazilian legend.
