Social media reacts to Clemson’s impressive west coast ACC win over Cal

Clemson fans had plenty to celebrate after the Tigers went across the country and left Berkeley with a 24-10 win over California .

The biggest name in the conversation was Gideon Davidson. The freshman running back continued his breakout stretch with 159 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, including a 75-yard score late in the fourth quarter that slammed the door on any Cal comeback.

Bryant Wesco also gave fans a reason to light up social media. His 65-yard punt return touchdown in the third quarter gave Clemson the lead and marked the Tigers' first punt-return score since 2018.

There was plenty of praise for the defense, too. Clemson held Cal to 231 total yards and made life miserable for quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Elliot Washington II picked him off twice, giving the Clemson defensive back three interceptions over the last two games.

Tait Reynolds did not put up huge passing numbers, but fans were encouraged by another win with the freshman behind center. He improved to 2-0 as the starter as Clemson leaned heavily on its rushing attack.

The reaction afterward was clear: Clemson looked tougher, more physical and much more comfortable playing to its strengths after another encouraging performance away from home.

Now the attention shifts to Miami, which comes to Memorial Stadium next Saturday for what should be Clemson's biggest ACC test yet.
