Tottenham Hotspur Are Still Keen On Recruiting This Nottingham Forest Talent: Good Choice For De Zerbi?

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast , journalist Pete O'Rourke claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are still keen on recruiting Nottingham Forest talent Morgan Gibbs-White . O'Rourke said

"They tried hard two summers ago to sign Gibbs-White and it got a bit ugly in the end with the Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, threatening legal action before he ended up tying down Gibbs-White to a new contract which made him the highest-paid player at the club.

"That showed how much faith Forest had in him and how important he is to their plans going forward as well. I'm sure that Tottenham's interest still remains in Gibbs-White."

Gibbs-White's Impressive Form In English Football

Gibbs-White enjoyed a decent run of form at the Midlands club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 26-year-old scored 18 times and secured seven assists in 53 matches for Nottingham last season across multiple competitions.

The English talent is currently one of the most talented playmakers in the Premier League . Hence, it is no wonder that Spurs are hoping to land him next year.

His current contract at the City Ground will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on the cheap this January or at the end of this season.

Will Gibbs-White Be A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur ?

Gibbs-White is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it in and around the opponent's penalty area. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates to score.

The English sensation can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Gibbs-White is primarily an attacking midfielder, but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or a right-winger if needed. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won't take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.

Gibbs-White would bring more goals and creativity to Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi's frontline. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

At 26, Gibbs-White has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great choice for the North London club to pursue this winter. Therefore, De Zerbi would be wise to move in for him in the January transfer window.
