Soccer superstar Kylian Mbappé has ended his long-time relationship with Nike and signed with Swiss brand On.

The Real Madrid forward had been sponsored by Nike since he was a child, but will now join On to develop and test the brand's cleats and apparel. French soccer legend Thierry Henry will now serve as the brand's director of football after working with the company since late 2025.

"From the beginning, what drew me to On was the opportunity to build something entirely new together that will help shape tomorrow's game," Mbappé said in a statement. "I want to bring my experience and perspective into what we create, push what's possible through innovation, and always stay true to the joy of football. We have a shared dream, and this is only the beginning."

Mbappé is the latest athlete to leave Nike, joining Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard, tennis star Emma Raducanu, and Barcelona and Spain standout Lamine Yamal .

On began in 2010 making running shoes before tennis icon Roger Federer became a co-owner of the company in 2019. Its athlete lineup includes:

According to The Athletic , On's football cleats will go on sale in 2027 as "premium" products, and the company will be targeting the women's market before next summer's Women's World Cup. Mbappé is expected to debut his new cleats in the next few weeks.
