Dan Lanning after win over USC: If you live in Los Angeles and 'interested in winning football games,' come to Oregon

Oregon coach Dan Lanning wanted to send a message at the end of his postgame news conference Saturday night.

Lanning's No. 20 Ducks beat No. 12 USC 41-27. It's the fifth straight win for Oregon over USC and the third victory in Lanning's time in charge at Oregon. And after he was done fielding questions, Lanning made sure to make a pitch for his program.

"Three wins against these guys. I guess if you're interested in winning football games and you're from this area you should go to Oregon," Lanning said. "If you want to go to a Chris Brown concert, go here."

It was a big win for an Oregon program still reeling from a Week 2 loss to Oklahoma State. A loss to USC would have been a massive boost for a Trojans program still looking for Big Ten relevancy under Lincoln Riley. And a devastating blow to Oregon's playoff hopes. Oregon would have been 2-2 with a loss and potentially needing to go 8-0 the rest of the season to make the College Football Playoff.

Instead, the Ducks got the win after star quarterback Dante Moore was injured in the second quarter. Moore suffered an apparent head injury after his head violently hit the turf following a hit from Desman Stephens II as Moore was sliding to the ground.

Stephens was ejected for targeting on the hit and his celebratory reaction after the hit drew the ire of Moore's teammates. Every player on both teams was assessed a personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct as the teams had to be separated on the field while Moore was down.

"It's a disgusting play, you don't want to see it happen," Lanning said. "It's disappointing that it happened. And I'm praying that our player is healthy and I'm praying that their player can learn from that situation because that's not a moment you want to be a part of."

Moore, who Lanning said was able to move, was taken off the field on a backboard to a waiting ambulance and transported to Los Angeles General Medical Center.

He was replaced by former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola . The Ducks' backup was 19-of-25 passing for 289 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Moore as USC gave up over 500 yards of total offense.
