Arsenal agree £55.7m club-record Gabriel Martinelli sale to Al Hilal with deal also agreed in principle with Barcelona for Gabriel Jesus
Gabriel Martinelli set to leave Arsenal for club-record £55.7m fee to Al Hilal; Barcelona agree deal in principle with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus for £8.6m; Gunners also agree deal worth around £7.7m to sell midfielder Fabio Vieira to Hamburg
Martinelli has now been granted permission to have a medical with the Saudi Pro League club and is set to become the biggest sale in Arsenal's history.
His move to Al Hilal will surpass the £40m Arsenal received from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer of 2017.
Martinelli's compatriot Gabriel Jesus is also set to leave after Arsenal agreed an £8.6m deal in principle with Barcelona.
All sides are now working on the details of the transfer and it is progressing towards a conclusion.
Plans are therefore being made for the Brazil striker to travel to Spain, which could be as soon as Monday.
Jesus had also been linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli.
The Jesus deal may not end Barcelona's pursuit of Julian Alvarez. Sky Sports News has been told they are completely separate.
Brazil forward Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in a £45m deal four years ago. He has scored 32 goals in123 appearances for Arsenal, but managed just three Premier League starts last season.
The 29-year-old missed most of last year after picking up a knee injury in a January 2025 FA Cup tie against Manchester United.
Jesus has made 64 international appearances for Brazil but has not featured for the Selecao since November 2023.
Barcelona have been looking to bring in a striker this summer.
Head coach Hansi Flick said Barcelona are "on a good path at the moment" when it comes to his squad and the club's recruitment policy.
"Of course I am happy with my team," he said ahead of Barcelona's game against Rayo Vallecano.
"Deco [football dirctor] is working to strengthen the team. This is what he's doing. But we don't have the pressure.
"Deco has done until now a fantastic job. It's good to me, just to see the quality during trainings. As a coach this is the most important thing.
Arsenal have also agreed a deal to sell Fabio Vieira to Hamburg.
The transfer for the midfielder is expected to be worth around £7.7m.
Vieira is on his way to Germany to finalise the move.
With the sales of Martinelli, Jesus and Vieira, Arsenal could bring in around £72m in transfer fees.
They have already made £45m in sales this window.
