Eagles star emerges as trade candidate ahead of deadline; ‘Rare’ defender could be on move

The Eagles could trade these two players.

The Eagles are a team to watch as the NFL trade deadline approaches — not necessarily for their play on the field but for the moves they make off it.

The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10, and the Eagles could make several trades to reload the roster. The Eagles are 2-5, which will make them sellers at the trade deadline.

They could trade impending free agents and older players who don't fit their long-term plans in exchange for draft picks

ESPN ranked 25 trade candidates ahead of the deadline. Two Eagles players made that list, including cornerback Riq Woolen and left guard Landon Dickerson.

"When I talk to rival teams about which players Philly might move, Woolen's name comes up fairly often," ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler wrote. "He's a high-upside corner and 2027 free agent whose $1.26 million base salary could help facilitate a trade (much of his $12 million in guarantees came via signing or restructured bonuses)."

Woolen has great physical tools, but his inconsistent play during his four years with the Seahawks has cost him money.

He signed a one-year deal with the Eagles this offseason. Woolen has been a favorite of Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio since the spring.

"Well, he's a rare guy in that you don't see many corners in the league that are 6-4...," Fangio said in May. "It's hard to find guys at those heights that can move and mirror receivers that are hard to cover. He can do that for a guy his height. ... He obviously has good downfield speed and his length is more of an asset than a detriment in his case."

Woolen is coming off his worst game of the season. On Monday, he gave up a 16-yard touchdown to Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and missed a handful of tackles. He allowed big catches on two scoring drives and drew a holding call before Lamb's touchdown.

The Eagles will need him to play better over the next two weeks to boost his trade value.

Fowler gave Woolen a 35% chance of being traded, but had Dickerson at 25%.

"Something feels off between the Eagles and Dickerson, one of the holdovers from the Jeff Stoutland offensive front," Fowler wrote. "He recently took what appeared to be a passive-aggressive shot at the front office over his long-term outlook with the franchise. The Eagles are in a position to recoup draft capital for the future and are going younger on the offensive line. A mix of erratic play and injuries could affect his value, but he has Pro Bowl traits, his guarantees run dry next year, and he held up well in his return for 'Monday Night Football' against the Cowboys."
