While some rain showers are possible, it appears as though Saturday night's SEC football clash between No. 2 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, will be largely unencumbered by Hurricane Isaias.
While some rain showers are possible, it appears as though Saturday night's SEC football clash between No. 2 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, will be largely unencumbered by Hurricane Isaias.
According to The Weather Channel , Saturday's forecast in Tuscaloosa shows some possible rain with limited wind gusts during the time the game is scheduled to be played.
Georgia vs. Alabama is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, and the forecast projects a 32 percent chance of rain at 7 p.m. and 31 percent chance at 8 p.m., which drops to 24 percent by 9 p.m.
Also, winds are forecasted to range from about 5 mph to 8 mph, so quarterbacks, kickers and punters shouldn't be impacted significantly.
Per The Weather Channel , Isaias made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane in Destin, Florida, on Friday night.
The storm has left nearly 900,000 people across Florida, Alabama and Georgia without power, and two deaths have been reported.
Despite the dangers of Hurricane Isaias in certain areas, meteorologist Rob Shackelford of The Weather Channel explained why Alabama vs. Georgia will be able to move forward without much issue.
Per Shackelford, Isaias hit a jet stream, which caused some destabilization and resulted in less intense winds.
That is good news for college football fans who are anticipating what could be one of the best games of the 2026 season.
It is always a big deal when Georgia and Alabama meet, and it is especially significant this year given where both teams currently stand.
The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide have matching 5-0 overall and 3-0 SEC records, tying them atop the conference.
Whoever wins Saturday's game will have a big leg up on the other in terms of advancing to the SEC Championship Game and playing for an automatic spot in the College Football Playoff.
However, given the talent level of both teams, it won't be a shock if Saturday is the first of two or even three meetings between them this season.
