How to watch Texas vs Oklahoma: Live stream College Football, NCAA, TV channel

The Red River Rivalry gets underway Saturday afternoon when No. 1 Texas comes to town to face Oklahoma in Norman.

Oklahoma's Lloyd Avant (9) celebrates his touchdown with John Mateer (10) in the first half of the college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the UTEP Miners at the Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Sept. 4, 2026.

While Texas is the No. 1 team in the country and Oklahoma (2-2)has had a less than stellar season so far, all bets are off in rivalry games, especially one that runs as deep as the Red River Rivalry.

Texas, who is coming off a bye week, squeaked by No. 15 Tennessee in a 20-17 win. Arch Manning went just 14-of-19 for 201 yards and one interception in the game.

If the Sooners can stay in this game, it will ultimately be because of their defense. The Sooners enter the game with the No. 6 defense in the country and will try to take advantage of a Longhorns offense that has lacked consistency through four games.

Oklahoma also had a bye week, which will definitely be helpful. The Sooners took a 41-13 loss to Georgia in their last game. John Mateer went 25-of-34 for 231 yards and two touchdowns. He also had one interception. Mateer has struggled mightily for Oklahoma. What has been a huge problem is his inability to hold onto the ball. He already has six turnovers this season.

Last year, Texas held Oklahoma to 258 total yards, completely shutting down the run game. The Sooners only managed 48 rushing yards on 30 attempts in a 23-6 loss.
