‘This is Texas Fight!' Longhorn fans react to stunning win over No. 1 Ohio State
Fans had a lot to say after Texas football's furious comeback effort at home against Ohio State on Sept. 12, 2026.
The Longhorns, ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25, trailed top-ranked Ohio State by 20 points in the second half. Then reeled off a furious 21 fourth-quarter points to pull out the 24-23 win at DKR .
Arch Manning 's scrambling and 196 passing yards, with Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown who combined for 128 yards, Texas avenged it's lost last year at The Horseshoe. The Longhorns also had a bit of luck with a missed Ohio State field goal that would have made it a two-possession game with 4 minutes, 16 seconds left.
To open the 2025 season , Texas fell 14-7 on the road in what was Manning's first year as the official starter for the Longhorns. But with a bit more experience, he came alive in the second half to help lead the Longhorns.
