Jackson State football vs Edward Waters in weather delay before start of home opener

The start of Jackson State's football game against Edward Waters on Sept. 5 has been delayed due to weather.

The start of Jackson State football 's home opener has been delayed due to weather.

The Tigers (1-0) are facing Division II Edward Waters (1-0) at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sept. 5 (HBCUGO). The start time for the game has been pushed back 30 minutes to 6:30 p.m. CT.

Prior to the start of warmups, lightning was seen in the area surrounding the stadium, and it began to rain.

About two hours before the game was scheduled to begin, all personnel was told to clear the field. The time of entry for fans was pushed back and hour to 5 p.m. CT.
