North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick was not forthcoming on Monday when questioned about the rumors of his potential breakup with Jordon Hudson.
"Do you work for a tabloid now?" he told reporters . "I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that's alright with you."
The relationship between Belichick, 74, and Hudson, 25, became something of a national fascination in 2025. In March of that year, reports emerged that Belichick requested Hudson to be copied on any email correspondence sent to him from the school.
One month later, when the head coach was asked about his relationship with Hudson during an interview on CBS Mornings , she shut down those questions while sitting off to the side.
Her proximity to the North Carolina football program invited scrutiny, to the point that podcast host and journalist Pablo Torre reported claims that Hudson had been banned from the football facilities. North Carolina denied that reporting.
In the meantime, Belichick has gone 8-12 in parts of two seasons as UNC's head football coach. This year's team is currently 4-4 and mired in a two-game losing streak after Saturday's 38-35 loss against top-ranked Miami.
