Deion Sanders Praises Chip Kelly for 'Flat-Out Butt-Kicking' After Northwestern Dominates Colorado

Colorado were rocked by Northwestern on Saturday, 41-7, losing their first game of the season. After the contest, head coach Deion Sanders gave props to his coaching counterparts, including Northwestern offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

"Great game by Northwestern," he told reporters. "... [Kelly] called a heck of a game. Flat-out butt-kicking. I'm gonna try my best to explain everything that I need to explain to you in the most polite manner I can at this point. But they played a heck of a game. Forced us to turn the ball over. Forced us into bad decisions. Forced us into doing things that aren't truly who we are. Four turnovers, 80 yards worth of penalties. You're not going to win."

Northwestern finished the game with 423 yards of total offense, just one turnover to Colorado's four and 36:53 in time of possession. It was, indeed, a butt-kicking.

It was Colorado's first loss of the season after consecutive wins and the schedule is only going to get tougher when the Big 12 slate starts next week, with the Buffs traveling to face Baylor. Sanders has plenty to clean up after Kelly and the Wildcats humbled them on Saturday.
