LSU football news: Trey'Dez Green targeting Alabama for return

LSU football might get one of its top offensive players back for one of the season's biggest games.

Tigers tight end Trey'Dez Green is aiming to return from his knee injury for LSU 's Nov. 7 game against Alabama , according to CBS Sports reporter Matt Zenitz. Green got hurt during LSU's loss to Ole Miss on Sept. 19.

Zenitz said the hope is that Green will be back when LSU plays the Crimson Tide, which would give the team a boost for the SEC matchup.

This update follows good news from Green's mother , who said an MRI showed there was no tear in his knee. Green will miss some games due to "bad sprains and bruises," but he won't need surgery.

This gives LSU hope that Green can play again this season, but it's still not certain he'll be ready for the Alabama game.

LSU would miss Green if he can't play. The 6-foot-7 tight end became one of the team's top pass-catchers in 2025, with 33 catches for 433 yards and seven touchdowns. Coaches also named him Second-Team All-SEC.
