Peyton Manning's Son Marshall Injured, Latest News on 2030 QB's Status After HSFB Debut

Marshall Manning, son of Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, will have to wait to compete in his second high school football game.

Manning is sidelined by a foot injury that kept him out of his Chattanooga high school's second game of the season, coach Erik Kimrey said Friday (h/t the Chattanooga Times Free Press ' Stephen Hargis).

Kimrey said Manning has "got a foot injury and will be out a few weeks," per Hargis.

A member of the high school graduating class of 2030, Manning plays for Baylor School in Tennessee. He made his high school football debut last Thursday.

Manning played two snaps in a ESPN2-televised game between Baylor School and Brentwood.

He started out his debut with an eight-yard completion to Ole Miss commit Antwaun Adams.

Kimrey said after the season opener he wanted Manning to get reps in every Baylor School game this season, per USA Today's Joseph Spears .

"I want Marshall to play in every game this year, even if it's just two plays like that," Kimrey said last week. "Hopefully it'll be a lot more. We need him next year and he needs to be ready."

Manning is currently backing up Keegan Croucher, a member of the class of 2027 ranked as a top-10 high school quarterback in the nation by 247Sports .

Croucher, who is playing in his final high school season, is a four-star prospect who has been committed since October 2025 to Ole Miss.

Kimrey will hope to get Manning back on the field as soon as he's healthy in order to get him some more experience before he is potentially tasked with taking over for Croucher next fall.

Manning, 15, is the latest member of his family to launch his football career. His cousin Arch is preparing to begin his second season as Texas' full-time starter with a Saturday, Sept. 5 matchup against Texas State.
