The Green Bay Packers are back in the win column, but not before an injury scare involving wide receiver Christian Watson during a Thursday Night Football game against the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field.

The former North Dakota State star wideout got hurt after making a 53-yard catch late in the first half. He left the game and was even taken to a hospital to get further medical attention.

Fortunately, Watson did not appear to suffer a serious injury, as evidenced by the fact that he was able to get back into the contest in the second half, helping the Packers take care of business and finish the game with a 27-19 victory over the Panthers.

Still, his story about why he had to go to the hospital sounded concerning.

After the game, Watson told Kaylee Hartung on NFL on Prime that he was spitting blood , which was why it was decided he needed to be checked for possible internal bleeding (h/t James Palmer of NFL on Prime. Watson also said that he watched the game on a doctor's phone, so he was still able to keep up with what was happening to his team while he was away from the stadium.

Despite missing some time in the game, Watson still ended up leading all players with 113 receiving yards on eight catches and 10 targets, as Green Bay successfully bounced back from a Week 7 loss to the Detroit Lions, while improving their record to 5-3.

Watson's status could also be worth monitoring, as the Packers now prepare for a Week 9 assignment against the New England Patriots.
