After another week of action, several top-performing athletes in the Lafayette area shined.

Matthew McKinnis, Benton Central cross country

Set a personal best time of 17 minutes, 59 seconds in the 5,000-meter at the Harrison Invite for the Bison.

Jackson Schneidt, Central Catholic boys soccer

Scored four goals and two assists to lead the Knights to a 9-0 shutout against Carroll.

Captured her 1,000th career assist in a 3-2 win over North Montgomery, finishing with 18 total on the night. Also helped the Gopher go 2-1 at the invitational Saturday.

Dylan Figueroa, Crawfordsville boys soccer

Finished with three goals and four assists in the Athenians' 10-1 victory over Covington.

Between a 3-2 loss to West Lafayette and 3-2 win over South Newton, she picked up 32 kills, 34 digs and three aces for the Eagles.

Tallied 35 digs and three aces against Greencastle in a 3-1 loss.

Led the Raiders at the Harrison Invite with a fourth-place finish and a time of 15:58 in the 5,000m, moving him to No. 7 in school history.

Elia Nieves, Lafayette Jeff girls soccer

Scored three goals for the Bronchos in a huge offensive performance, defeating Marion 8-1.

Sophie Bittinger, Lafayette Jeff girls soccer

Also finished with a hat trick in Jeff's scoring barrage against Marion.

Kenzie Williams, McCutcheon cross country

Ran a 21:32.81 in the 5,000m at the Brownsburg Invitational over the weekend, finishing 83rd of 220 runners.

Emma Garringer, West Lafayette volleyball

In the Red Devils' 2-2 stretch during the week, Garringer recorded 124 assists, including 40 against Faith Christian.
